DIY Photo Safari #15: Yes the BRONX!

This is the Bronx as you had never imagined! Beautiful gardens, peaceful nature trails and the perfect place to spend a relaxed afternoon are probably not the first things that come to mind when you think of the Bronx. But that is exactly what you will find at Wave Hill public garden and cultural center. Wave Hill House was once home to Mark Twain and is surrounded by picturesque gardens. For more information, including a month-by-month guide to flora and foliage visit wavehill.org. Given the small size of Wave Hill you can make a day of it by visiting the New York Botanical Gardens. Visit on Nov. 19th to practice your indoor and night photography skills at the tree lighting and the opening of the annual holiday train exhibit featuring model trains and replicas New York landmarks made of plants! For more info visit http://www.nybg.org

Don't forget, for effective night photography you'll probably want to use a tripod, if not make sure image stabilization is turned on. For information on how to choose a tripod take a look at these two blogs: How to Choose a Tripod and Tripod Heads .

If you want to get a handle on your night photography skills try our NYC After Dark Photo Safari in Times Square.
