Coney Island is probably the last place you would find a New Yorker hanging out but for one day a year there is a good reason to get on a train and head to Coney Island. It's the Mermaid Festival! On June 23 you'll find hundreds of people dressed up as mermaids. From the outrageous to the Beautiful this is a great way practice your people photography. Everyone will be in a happy mood and ready to have their photos taken! And besides, it's a good excuse to finally get a real Nathan's Coney dog!
