JustTap Magnetic Tripod Review: Pros, Cons, and How It Compares to the Competition

This is a review of the JustTap Magnetic Tripod by KraftGeek. At its core, it functions as advertised: attaching a phone via the magnetic mount works reliably, whether through MagSafe or the included magnetic ring. The tap-to-open legs make setup fast and convenient, and the way the magnetic ring collapses neatly into the legs adds a touch of thoughtful design that sets it apart from many of its competitors. It extends up to approximately 66 inches and collapses down to about 13 inches, offering a decent range of shooting angles. The included Bluetooth remote is a practical addition for hands-free use.

Of course, there are a few compromises. Due to its maximum height, the tripod is on the heavier side (around 455g / 15.8 oz), which becomes noticeable during transport or handheld use. But, it also has a better build than it's competitors hence the weight. When fully extended, there's some minor wobble, particularly in slightly windy conditions—though it's no worse than similar products. At around the 30-inch mark, stability is much more solid. While the tripod folds down fairly compactly, it's still a bit long for small bags or tight travel situations. That said, the build quality feels sturdy and well-made.

In summary, the design is sleeker and more refined than many alternatives in this category. The main trade-offs are its weight and length, but if reaching 66 inches is a requirement, those compromises are largely unavoidable.
