To fisheye or not to fisheye? After purchasing 2 or 3 lenses, amateur photographers will eventually ask the question "should I get a fish eye lens?" Although a fisheye lens may give you a different photography experience, it probably won't enhance your photographs. Sure they can be fun to play with, you can achieve a look you cannot replicate with other lenses and you can push your photographs in different ways, but at the end of the day it's a one trick pony. In other words all of your photos will mostly end up just having one look - fisheye. So should you own a fish eye? Unless you love this look and plan on using it a lot, it's probably best just to rent one when you need it or when you just want to play around a little bit.
"A Lot" is defined as 10% or more of your shooting.
