Head over to the Bierhaus in Midtown to celebrate the arrival of summer with a pint of beer or two or three. You never need an excuse to celebrate with a good brew but if you did this is a perfect excuse. There will be live music and free snow cones! How cool is that?

Located on the Upper West side, Cafe Lalo is best known as the restaurant frequented by Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks in the movie "You've Got Mail". Cafe Lalo, is actually a great restaurant without the notoriety of the movie! Situated just down the street from the NY Children's Museum. It's a great pit stop for it's generous sandwiches or amazing desserts!

Halo Berlin (German Sausage)
Have you ever been to Germany? If so then you have probably had a wurst on the street. It's as traditional as having a hot dog on the streets of New York. If you want the most authentic German Wurst you can find in NYC then say hello to Halo Berlin. Although Halo Berlin has two restaurants (only one of which is in New York City), we prefer their street car. It just feels more like the real deal. Their street cart is located at 54th and 5th Ave on the NW corner, but if this is your destination plan well because the cart is only there during the weekday from 12-3 pm. If you miss it then you'll need to head to their store.

McSorley's Old Ale House
It's St. Patrick's this week and a great time to be recommending McSorely's, the OLDEST Irish tavern in Manhattan. The atmosphere here can't be beat as it doesn't get more original than this. Try to avoid it on St. Patrick's day as it will be crushed with... drunks. But none the less if you must you'll still have a great time. (They don't seem to have a website or any socail media. Looks like they don't need it!)

Hangawi (vegetarian)
This week try something different - Korean! Often people are afraid to try new foods because they are not quite sure what the mystery meat is. So why not try Korean Vegetarian? No mystery meat. No meat at all. Hangawi serves traditional Korean food without dumbing down the flavors but with a modern take. It's sophisticated, modern and traditional all on one plate.

This weeks marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year (AKA Chinese New Year). While in Chinatown check out the Shanghai Asian Manor. You won't get much fresher or more amazing Chinese cuisine anywhere in Chinatown. Although it's a small restaurant it's not really a hole in the wall. By Chinatown standards this is a modern restaurant. While there be sure sample their steamed port dumplingss their signature dish.

Info provided by NYC Photo SafariChurrascaria Plataforma (Brazillian)
"The authentic Brazilian “Churrascaria” Churrascaria (choo-rah-scah-ree-ah) is the name used to describe a restaurant that serves meat, mostly grilled, and a Rodizio style restaurant uses the method of serving different cuts of meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800s." Plataforma claims to be the best Brazilian restaurant in the country, we're not sure about that but we do think it's the best in NYC. This is an all you can eat restaurant. Please note that drinks and dessert are not included in the price. If you are meat lover then this is heaven, however their salad bar is second to none and any vegetarian will happy to eat at this restaurant too.
